We have successfully organised the 2023 IDEXX Seminar focused on CBC: Understanding Its Full Potential and Application, held in four different states: Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Sabah. The workshop was aimed at providing more insights to veterinarian the importance of including CBC as screening test to determine the underlying cause of an infection, anemia and illness of our furry companions.
The seminar was conducted by Dr. Todd Brokken, DVM, SAMINA Customer Education and Sales Training Manager from IDEXX. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Minnesota (USA) in 2007. He then pursued his interest in diagnostics and equipment lameness and worked with top-tier horses from all over the world.
During the seminar, Dr. Todd discusses the medical benefits of adding a CBC to the testing protocol and why having reticulocytes is critical for making an accurate diagnosis. He also discusses the potential business opportunities created by utilising a CBC in testing protocols and strategies to discuss the value of having CBC information with clients. A total of 200 vet doctors from the Northern, West, and East Malaysia attended the seminars.
